Corporate Blogging

The idea of having an internal blog or blogs for various teams working on different projects in an organization seems to be catching up in the west. Most of the companies have imbibed this idea into their corporate structures and operations, passing through various reaction processes on the way. Gossips, project management, updates, complaints, brickbats et al., all have in some way been incorporated in the daily publishing tool.
As for me, I have got tons of pictures and stuff that I would love to share about our team and the project we are working on. Tiny tid-bits and anecdotes, pictures and fun stuff. A healthy idea of an internal blog site is in the making, and I hope that my company does that soon.
Moreover, any updates on the projects et al can be directly posted on to the site, so that one does not clog the email servers posting everything to the team, but rather can just go on to the internal blog site and put up comments or check for the latest.

Whither Ambanis?

The topmost industrial powerhouse is in deep internal turmoil. Reliance Industries is going through a bad phase at this moment in time, as both the brothers, Mukesh and Anil, battle over the control and ownership issues. The brothers, who were once a symbol of booming family unity in a large business conglomerate, have taken a sudden turn. Its been less than a year after the death of their father, the great visionary industrialist Dhirubhai Ambani, that this contentious issue has suddenly surfaced to the very chagrin of the company shareholders. What has ensued is sudden panic and skepticism amongst the people, both inside and outside the company; the future of the company hanging in uncertainity. Its sad to see such a power hunger and turmoil inside the company’s top management, a company that has more or less stood for public service and spirit. The vestiges of greed and the hunger for control, the ancient sins, have finally found a new home. I hope this issue settles soon and some sense gets drilled into the troubled and blackened minds of the two brothers, who are sweating it out uselessly.

National Toilet Map

National Public Toilet Map is a new and innovative concept. I just loved it. The site provides a listing and maps of all the public toilets in Australia. So the next time you are on the road, you can plan out your trip and know where to take that short halt to feel more comfortable … lol. Go check out this interesting site.

Share a car

Share a Car
City CarShare is an interesting concept. According to the statement on their web-page, they are a non-profit organization which promotes car sharing as a means to reduce the human dependence on personal automobiles and encourages public transport or cycling. The company has vehicles parked in select locations and neighbourhoods in San Francisco and surrounding areas. A person pays depending on how much he drives which is usually $4 per mile.
